The Heights Pre-School

The Heights Pre-School is an integral part of the Junior Primary component of The Heights School.

In addition to their own specific program, Pre-School children share a range of facilities, programs and resources across the whole school, regularly interacting with older students in many and varied X-age peer tutoring experiences.

The Heights Pre-School is committed to providing a high quality, challenging, differentiated and flexible play-learning environment that supports the interests, developmental and learning needs of all students, acknowledging their uniqueness, diversity, capacity for self direction and competent learning.

We aim to achieve this through a program that reflects contemporary curriculum and methodologies based on guidelines from the South Australian Curriculum, Standards and Accountability [SACSA] Framework and working in partnership with parents and community

The Pre-School Program gives high priority to all Learning Areas, with particular focus on Play, Positive Social Interactions, Caring Behaviours, Literacy and Numeracy, The Arts and Creativity, Innovative Technologies, Gifted Education, Inclusive curriculum, Enterprise, Indigenous Cultural Awareness and Transition to School Programs.

We value highly the contribution and support of Parents, Family and Community.

Parents are warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate and assist in the Pre-School Programs and in a variety of ways offered throughout The Heights School.
